Hepburn’s leading tourism body has voiced its opposition to Ausnet’s western Victoria transmission line.

CEO of Daylesford-Macedon Tourism Steve Wroe says 80-metre high towers and substations between Creswick and Daylesford will have a dramatic impact on visitation numbers.

He says power lines in scenic areas must be run underground.

"Our concern is that the construction of these towers will have a detrimental effect on the aesthetic of the landscape and will almost certainly impact visitation numbers and have a serious impact on the local economy," he said.
