Ballarat will receive one of two stroke centres set to be installed in regional Victoria.
It comes as part of a 8.1-million dollar package handed down by the state government to help stroke survivors regain function and return to work.
Wendouree MP Juliana Addison says the centres to be built in Ballarat and Gippsland will be the fifth and sixth in Victoria.
"A number of people in our community have suffer from stroke, it's not just old people, I've seen first-hand it can have on young people as well so I welcome this announcement," she said.
