Following a turbulent 12 months in 2020 which saw all of the senior director team at the City of Ballarat leave, another director has quit.

Sean Portelli, the Director of Corporate Services resigned his position late last week after only 6 months in the top financial job. Mr Portelli was appointed by interim CEO Janet Dore who has since been replaced by the former boss of Hepburn Shire Evan King.

No reason has been given for his departure with council saying recruiting is now underway to fill the vacancy.

"City of Ballarat Director Corporate Services, Sean Portelli, has today resigned from his position," Mr King said in a statement.

"I would like to thank Sean for his contribution to the organisation over the past six months and wish him all the best for the future."

"Stephen Bigarelli, the current Executive Manager of Financial Services, will take on the role of interim-Director while we commence the search for a permanent replacement," Mr King said.
