Questions are being raised over an oval structure taking shape on the foothills of Mt Buninyong.

The structure looks identical to the design of a controversial ‘skybarrel’ project which is being reviewed by the Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal.

Buninyong councillor Ben Taylor says, while the original project is at VCAT, the developer has approval for a single dwelling from an independent surveyor.    

The original five-dwelling project will have a formal hearing in May.
