Ballarat's supply of blood has been described as 'dire' with 100 extra donations required in the next 2 weeks.
Lifeblood Ballarat say supplies of O+ and A+ in particular have dropped to critical levels with just 2 days supply of Australia's two most common blood types.
Colin Littlejohn from Lifeblood Ballarat says you can donate up to the age of 75 and you don't need to know your blood type.
"We'll take any type of blood at the moment but we're actually really looking for O+ or A+."
"You don't have to know your blood type, we will test you and then inform you of your blood type," Mr Littlejohn said.
Blood donations can be made at the Australian Red Cross facility in Latrobe Street Redan however bookings are essential.
