Good weather and the removal of the 'ring of steel' to Regional Victoria has produced a bumper weekend for Ballarat hospitality and tourism businesses.

Melbourne residents have flocked to country areas after around 15 weeks in lock down, with Ballarat one of the busiest areas judging by the people in the parks and gardens around Lake Wendouree.

Accommodation providers have reported solid bookings although the build has been steady rather than overwhelming.

Victoria yesterday recorded its 16th day in a row of no new coronavirus cases or deaths.

There's also now no mystery cases.

Premier Daniel Andrews will continue to loosen restrictions this Sunday night and has given the strongest hint yet that the mandatory mask rule may be relaxed.
