The Ballarat suburb of Mt Pleasant has been named as a top real estate pick by a leading buyers agent.
Lloyd Edge says the 'unassuming bridesmaid' suburb represents great value with a median house price of $350,000, sitting about $70,000 cheaper than greater Ballarat which values at $424,500.
Rental returns in Mt Pleasant are also good at almost 5%.
“If you are looking for an affordable entry level investment property to get your foot on the property ladder- there are many options available, given you do your due diligence, understand the markets, and keep your strategic long-term plan in mind," Mr Edge said.
"There are a number of opportunities in regional areas across Australia, and research shows that many people are making this tree-change."
Despite the pandemic property prices across Ballarat have continued to increase with a 2.4% rise in the September quarter on the back of a 0.9% increase in the June quarter.
