Ballarat police are inviting all Western Victorians to join them online for National Police Remembrance Day today.
The virtual event will commence at 10am and pay tribute to police members who've made the ultimate sacrifice.
There'll be a focus this year on the 4 officers killed on the Eastern Freeway in Kew back in April.
Inspector Paul Bertoncello from Ballarat Police says Blue Ribbon Day coincides with National Police Remembrance Day on September 29.
"The day provides the opportunity for the community to say thank you to those who protect and serve our community and ensure that those who have fallen are never forgotten," Inspector Bertoncello said.
170 members of Victoria Police have passed away in the line of duty.
