Wait time for test results increase as volumes surge

Coronavirus test results in Ballarat are now taking 3 to 5 days to be returned, up from 2 to 3 days last week.

Ballarat Community Health's CEO Sean Duffy says numbers are growing significantly across the BCH site in the CBD and the Lucas based clinic run by UFS.
"We're anticipating that collectively on average we are doing about 2500 tests a week but our capacity has significantly increased," Mr Duffy said.
Mr Duffy has called for patience from the Ballarat public with his reception staff receiving about 200 calls for an appointment every morning. Plans are currently being developed to create an app based booking service such as "Hot Doc" to decrease the amount of time people spend waiting on the phone.
