Settle backs Howard for another tilt at local government

The State Member for Buninyong has come out in support of former MP Geoff Howard possibly returning to local government.

Michaela Settle, who replaced Mr Howard at the last state election, says his 19 years in state politics will serve him well.
"Geoff has always been really committed to the community and I think he's keen to stay engaged and make good for Ballarat," Ms Settle said

In a first for the ALP, Mr Howard was one of six candidates formerly endorsed by the Labor Party yesterday for the October City of Ballarat elections.

They include current councillors Des Hudson and Daniel Moloney, Dean of ACU in Ballarat Bridget Aitchison, union organiser Jay Morison and former political lecturer Kumuda Simpson.
