The Old Hepburn Hotel has received interim heritage protection up until April 30 next year.

The Minister for Planning, Richard Wynne, has supported the Hepburn Shire Councils bid to protect the hotel from demolition.

Located at Main Road Hepburn, the hotel was investigated by council's heritage advisor in late 2019 who determined that it warranted local heritage protection under the Hepburn planning scheme.

Council CEO Evan King says the aim is to permanently protect the site.
