NORTH Melbourne has added speedster Jared Polec in a deal with Port Adelaide that will also see Jasper Pittard arrive at Arden Street from Port Adelaide.
The Roos also received a third-round pick in this year’s National Draft (currently No.48) from the Power, who now have North’s first pick (currently No.11) and a future fourth-round selection.
Polec, 25, has played 106 AFL games, including 90 at Port Adelaide after starting his career with the Brisbane Lions.
He finished fifth in the Power’s best-and-fairest this year.
“Jared has been an outstanding player and is coming off a career-best year,” Roos list manager Cameron Joyce said.
“He will no doubt add a tremendous amount of run and class to our list, playing in the midfield and on a wing.”
Pittard featured in 126 games for Port Adelaide and a was a member of the All-Australian squad in 2016.
“Jasper is a highly skilled defender who can do a lot of damage with his rebound and run,” Joyce said.
“He is an excellent player to have across half-back.”
Meanwhile, St Kilda has traded ruckman Tom Hickey to West Coast in exchange for a second-round selection.
