Saints say goodbye to Parker

MATT Parker has become the latest player to depart St Kilda as uncertainty around list sizes for 2021 remains.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Saints with pick No.47 in the 2018 National Draft from WAFL club South Fremantle, is the seventh player to leave the club.

Parker debuted in the opening round of the 2019 season and played 17 games.

However, he only managed only two appearances in 2020.

“This was a really difficult decision to make,” list manager James Gallagher said.

“Matty has such an incredible spirit and it’s easy to see why he was so quickly embraced by Saints fans.

“Unfortunately the situation we find ourselves in demands tough choices, and this was one of them.

“We thank Matty for his dedication to the club and wish nothing but the best for him, Shardah and Matty Jnr.”

Parker follows retiree Nathan Brown and delisted quintet Doulton Langlands, Ryan Abbott, Jack Bell, Jack Mayo and Logan Austin out the door at Moorabbin.
