JUST over two years after winning the Western Bulldogs leading goalkicker award, Billy Gowers has been delisted.
The 24-year-old is one of three players let go by this year’s beaten elimination finalists, with Brad Lynch and Fergus Greene also shown the door.
Joining the Bulldogs in the 2017 Rookie Draft, Gowers played 33 games, including 20 in 2018, kicking a team-high 26 goals.
However, he only appeared on 10 occasions in 2019 and three this year, with his last match against Richmond in Round 9.
Lynch, who arrived at Whitten Oval in the 2015 Rookie Draft, made his breakthrough in 2018, playing all nine of his AFL matches that year,
Greene, who also played all of his five AFL games in 2018, was selected in the 2016 National Draft.
“Billy, Fergus and Brad have each made important contributions on and off the field in their time at our football club,” list manager Sam Power said.
“We thank them for their commitment and wish them the best for the future.”
The departure of Gowers, Lynch and Greene takes to the four the number of players who have left the club following the retirement of 2016 premiership player Tory Dickson.
