There’s still 30 millimetres of rain predicted to fall over Ballarat this week before October is out, tipping the region over 200 millimatres in total for the period.

As at Thursday the guage was sitting on 176.8 mils; the highest October rainfall on record for Ballarat is 193.3 millimetres in 1975.

The highest daily total is predicted for Sunday the 30th with up to 15 millimetres on the cards.

The good news is that the weather bureau expects the La Nina weather system breaking this month’s rainfall records is forecast to ease in December.

Normal summer conditions are expected to return early next year.
