I was born in the capital city 'Jinan' of Shandong Province. Jinan is known as the 'Spring City' Shandong Province, near Beijing.
Dumplings are the traditional specialty food by the Chinese and I first learnt how to make and cook dumplings with my grandmother. At the age of ten, I used to spend time with her making dumplings and having a chat in a happy and harmonious atmosphere. This experience instilled in me my passion for preparing beautiful food, and thus put me on the path of hospitality and becoming a chef.
Although dumplings are common and very popular now, they used to only be consumed for very special occasions, such as New Year's Eve, during the festivals or on family-reunion occasions.
I'm extremely excited to be bringing dumplings to my hometown of Ballarat.
