A recent study supported by Ambulance Victoria has found an increased risk of chest pain presentations for temperatures over 26.4C.
Tomorrow’s forecast high in Ballarat is 36C.
The study also says the risk is even higher for younger and poorer patients.
Dr Rob Grenfell, Chief Strategy and Regions Officer from Grampians Health says hot weather can affect many people.
“Many health conditions do get worse with high heat days.”
“Particularly for people who have got kidney or heart or lung disease, they can often suffer quite severely through those periods, they really do need to look after themselves,” Dr Grenfell said.
Meantime, forecast scorching conditions and high winds have forced authorities to declare tomorrow another day of Total Fire Ban for Ballarat.
The city sits in the Central region with a ban also declared in the South-West, North-Central, Northern Country, Wimmera and Mallee regions.
No fires can be lit in the open air between 12.01am and 11.59pm Thursday.
