Around 50 Ballarat athletes will this week converge on Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne for the under 14 to under 18 Victorian State Athletics Championships.
These age groups will compete from Friday evening to Sunday with the Open & U20 group competing next week.
Athletes to watch include Eureka’s Chantelle Leslie-Hughes across all four throwing events as well as Ballarat Harriers Molly Fraser who recently broke the Ballarat open record in week 1 of the season with an 11.84 meter triple jump. Molly is only 16 years old.

After a successful Victorian Country Championships in Geelong, the Ballarat athletes will be hoping for similar results at the State level.
