The Victorian Government is calling on public submissions to a new parliamentary enquiry looking into the readiness and response to last Octobers major floods.
Towns not far from Ballarat particularly hard hit included Skipton and Beaufort, most of the devastation however occurred in Shepparton and border regions.
The inquiry will look into the event as a whole, and consider factors such as what caused or contributed to the Flood Event; emergency services; government policy; flood mitigation strategies; the Flemington Racecourse flood wall; and the Victoria planning framework.
Written submissions will be accepted until May 8th.
Information on how to be involved can be found here.
