AFL legend Kevin Sheedy says it makes sense for Ballarat to have a statue of Tony Locket erected at the entrance to the city.
Locket, who was born in Ballarat, played 281 games and kicked 1360 goals for the Saints and Swans.
“He’s never going to get surpassed, not the way the game is these days, he’s the greatest goal kicker.”
“I would actually have his statue point straight towards that magnificent building in the Eureka Tower which gives a little bit of history to the magnificent people of Ballarat,” Mr. Sheedy said.
Mr. Sheedy will return to Ballarat on June 14th for a Sportsmans Gala as a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
