Defence lawyers in the Samantha Murphy court case have called for a 12-week adjournment to work through an ‘unprecedented’ amount of evidence.
This morning, the accused killer of the Ballarat mother, 23-year-old Patrick Orren Stephenson, faced court via video link wearing a white t-shirt and only speaking to acknowledge he could hear the magistrate.
At the hearing, Mr. Stephenson’s defence lawyers and the Office of Public Prosecutions sought a delay in order to go through the ‘huge’ amount of evidence, including extensive CCTV footage.

The matter will return to court on November 14.
