Federation University are calling on the Ballarat public for help, as its international student numbers soar even higher than before the pandemic.
The university is looking for families that can lease out a spare room, help students with their English skills and teach them about local culture.
Daniel Moloney from the university says approved families can earn over $300 a week.

“We’ve got our own campus living accommodation as well, and that gets full pretty quickly,” he said.
“We’re after 20 families at least [at] this stage or 20 houses in the Ballarat area, especially if they’re close to public transport, to house students.”
