Ballarat’s Run for a Cause grinds to a halt

The Ballarat Foundation have today announced the end of fundraising event Run for a Cause after six years.

In a statement, Foundation CEO Andrew Eales said while the decision to end the community running event was difficult, they must ensure they focus on activities that meet their core objectives.

“Unfortunately, given the economic conditions and an evaluation of the community distribution and benefit, we’ve made the tough decision to devote our focus on other activities,” Mr. Eales said.

It’s understood the event cost around $150,000 a year to run.

Efforts will now be redirected into building upon other activities, including the Ballarat Women’s Fund and the Christmas Appeal.
