A Place At The Table - Bridging the Gaps
Sun 21 Aug 2022 12:00 pm to 04:30 pm
Join the LGBTIQA+ community and local organisations and policy makers in Ballarat for a 3 course long lunch at The Goods Shed. MCing the event are Ballarat's own Lance DeBoyle from LaNCE TV and director of the Ballarat Cabaret Festival Issie Hart (they/them).
The afternoon will be peppered with entertainment from accomplished pianist Akasha Temple and opera singer extraordinaire, Issie Hart
In the lead up to Wear it Purple Day, our theme is Bridging the Gaps; between the community and service providers, between policymakers and the people they serve, and between young and older LGBTIQA+ community members.
With inspired speeches from The Commissioner for LGBTIQA+ people, Todd Fernando and our patron Anne Tudor OAM (she/her), Victorian senior of the year; as well as a keynote address from Eideann (they/them) president of the Queer Collective at Australian Catholic University, we will hear stories of resilience and passion.
