Million Stars To End Violence

On Sunday 16th July at 11am at MADE, Rosie Batty, Federal Member for Ballarat Catherine King MP and Mayor of Ballarat Cr. Samantha McIntosh will be thanking the many people who have been involved in the Million Star to end Violence Ballarat Community project.

Lidia Aitken was moved by the story and the whole idea of getting people together to make stars as a symbol of spreading a peaceful and positive message to say “no” to all forms of violence.

She has been involved with a dedicated group of women, twice a month, weaving the stars at MADE for the past three years. Talking and showing visitors how to make the stars. Lidia said “While we have been making the stars at MADE, hundreds of people across Ballarat have also been weaving stars and saying ‘no’ to violence in the most powerful way they can by being involved in the 1 million stars project. WRISC(Women’s Resource Information and Support Center) has been one of the driving forces”

Lydia spoke with PT on 3BA's Bigshow.
