Fire truck bogged during Scarsdale Winter bushfire

Fire crews are remaining on site after an 8ha grass and scrub fire, near Scarsdale. 

The blaze began in a paddock near the corner of Basin Rd around 2.15pm Thursday and quickly spread to long grass and weeds including gorse, fanned by strong westerly winds.

At least 10 CFA crews were called from as far as Cape Clear, Miners Rest and Glen Park.

Conditions underfoot were soggy and one CFA truck was bogged for more than 10 minutes. 

DEWLP crews with lighter, more agile firefighting vehicles were then called in.

The scsne was under control around 4pm.

CFA firefighters say it's a warnng that a large blaze can still break out in windy conditions in Winter.
