Kate Wilson was born in the sunny town of Launceston in Tasmania, with only one head which was extremely lucky!
Growing up in the Apple Isle was fun, and she even came across someone of the same name as her, who lived in the same suburb. That’s an introduction to Tasmania for you though!
After studying Journalism at the University of Tasmania and volunteering at the local community radio station, she ventured onto the ‘mainland’ for a radio journalist position in Sydney.
Kate spent nearly two years working in, and studying radio there, before moving to Ballarat in late 2008. She credits her time at the Australian Film Television and Radio School as probably the busiest but most fun time in her life so far.
You’ll hear Kate reading the news on 3BA across the day or you’ll see her chasing down the Mayor for a story! She likes to know what’s going on in Ballarat, and tries to break stories before the local paper.
When she’s not at work Kate loves doing nothing on the couch at home or dancing madly in the car while singing to whatever is on the radio.
