2017 ANZAC Day services and Road Closures
ANZAC Day services will be held across the municipality next Tuesday, 25 April. They include:
5.45am: Ballarat Dawn Service, Cenotaph, Sturt Street
8.00am: Arch of Victory Service followed by planting of Lone Pine
8.45am: Sebastopol RSL Service
9.00am: Ex-Prisoner of War Memorial Service
9.30am: St Patrick’s Cathedral Church Commemorative Mass
10.00am: Ballarat March form-up in Lydiard Street North
10.00am: Miners Rest ANZAC Day service, The Cenotaph
10.15am: Buninyong RSL Service
10.30am: Ballarat ANZAC Day March from RSL to Cenotaph, Sturt Street
10.45am: Wreath Laying at Cenotaph, Sturt Street
11.00am Commemorative Service at Cenotaph, Sturt Street
For the safety of participants and all road users the following traffic alterations will be in place:
Monday 24 April
In preparation of the ANZAC Day service; both lanes of West bound traffic on Sturt Street from Lyons
Street to Dawson Street will be closed from 1pm to 4.30pm.
ANZAC Day, Tuesday 25 April
Sturt Street will be closed from Dawson Street to Raglan Street in both directions
to all traffic from 4.30am to 3pm. During the closure, only local traffic will be
permitted into Lyons Street from Dana or Mair Street.
The ANZAC March will form up on Lydiard Street North from 9.30am and progress into Sturt Street to
the Cenotaph at the Lyons Street intersection.
Lydiard Street North from Mair to Sturt Street will be closed from 6.30am to 11am.
Sturt Street and all intersecting streets will be progressively closed from Lydiard to
Dawson Street from 10.15am and will re-open as soon as the March passes.
