They say truth is stranger than fiction.

March 24 1984 was just another day for Meredith couple Jim and Lynda Hynds.

Then they were involved in a head-on collision with their neighbour - the former Premier of Victoria.

More than 30 years later, we are no closer to finding out what happened to Sir Henry Bolte's blood sample at Ballarat Base Hospital, but Herald Sun journalist Andrew Rule has caught up with the Hynds about their life since that fateful day... and a few theories about what he believes took place.
